The art of wood carving and more! is an integral part of the culture of Uzbekistan and its multi-lingual population, and its history as the future, the present goes back to the past. Wood carving is famous for its national traditions and people's daily life. It has long been used to make architectural details and structures such as columns, doors, ceilings and handles. Daily life includes most of the household appliances from furniture to tableware.
Later, artistic carvings were presented on various wooden objects, from massive columns and beams for the ceiling to tiny children's amulets.
Since ancient times, wooden objects, traditional for the East, have been: caskets, book stands, carved tables. All of them generously convey all the richness of traditional ornament. Carvers used the wood of such trees as elm, walnut, sycamore, juniper, mulberry. Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, Fergana, Rishtan, Kokand were and remain recognized centers of woodcarving in Uzbekistan. Each city has its own innovations and they all differ in their technique of carving and patterns.

We present to you a young talented master of his craft Yashinov Jakhongir who was born in 1995. Until that time, he was able to master art in the direction of Woodcarving, Drawing on objects, and Art miniature. From the age of 10 he developed an interest in this art. He was a student of the outstanding master Ergash Aliyev for 8 years.
By the age of 15, Jakhongir entered a college called the Benkov Republican College of Art and acquired the art and skills of artistic miniature. For 6 years he has been working and creating in the Eshon Abdulkasim Madrasah Below are his works.
